Adventures At Pole Con 2022

Pole Con was in Atlanta this year! I have been to Pole Expo twice before but this was my first ever Pole Con and I have to say, I LOVED IT! The performances alone were worth the price of the pass. If I had nothing to do, I would happily spend the whole weekend watching all the wonderful polers. Your pass covered some meals, free workshops, the ability to book special paid workshops, performance showcases and the ability to shop shop shop! You get the opportunity to meet & spend time with like minded polers including those celeb polers you look up to.

The convention started on Thursday but I arrived late Thursday night after teaching here in Augusta. I ate and went straight to bed to be ready for the convention. Friday started with a trip to a local donut shop to get breakfast. After breakfast, I picked up my pass, found where everything was located and then hit the stalls for some shopping. I spent most of my day watching performances but I also took one free workshop and one paid workshop. The day ended with the Black Girls Pole Showcase and let me tell you, it was mind blowing! It was the biggest and best showcase of the weekend. Lunch provided this day was salad, soup and cookies.

Saturday was the day that a few of our students came to Atlanta for a day trip! What did we get up to? Well there was certainly more shopping, watching performances and participating in various workshops. Some of us also sat down to listen to a Strippers & Sex Workers Panel. We learned a lot and it was good to hear the good & the bad about the origins of the pole world. Again, I took a mixture of paid and free workshops and even ran into a student who took one of the same workshops as me. It was great to spend time with students outside of the pole studio! Lunch provided that day was a wrap, soup and pie. Sunday was a sad day! I hate to leave events like this after you have had such a good time! I had one workshop first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, it was at the same time as breakfast and the hotel staff wouldn't let me grab my breakfast early. Yes, I am bitter about this. After that, I perused the remaining bits of the stalls and then watched the aerial showcase before getting in my car and heading out. Breakfast was one of my leftover donuts and a banana I stole when the hotel staff wasn't looking. Take that! ;)

It was such an inspiring weekend! I can't wait to go back! See you next year Pole Con!
